INTRODUCING BABY KENT #4

Because in the Kent family, you are “not just a number“…  (see below for ultrasound video!)

BabyKent4-2I am excited to introduce you to our fourth child, which just so happens to be ANOTHER BOY! (this makes 4). Of course, we are completely excited and thankful that we see every sign of a completely healthy baby. And it goes without saying that we were surprised to find we were not having the little girl that we’d hoped and prayed for. Disappointing? A little bit. “Why” questions? Maybe a couple. But allow me to share where I’ve been camping out…

I am completely convinced that this baby is special. God knew we’d prayed for a girl. And my experience with [how amazing our God is] tells me that this is a specially chosen baby. God has never failed to demonstrate that He knows what He is doing, despite the prayers we pray (with often very limited knowledge). Without a doubt, we will look back on this moment with much more insight (and a crazy love for our 4th child) and realize, even more: God is faithful.

BabyKent4-1So, if you find yourself in a season of life where you are facing circumstances you haven’t planned for (or even desired), you are also in a divinely powerful moment in time where you can choose to elevate your thinking above and beyond your five senses and look to the living God who sent His Son, Jesus, so that we would “have life and more abundantly”. Thinking His thoughts (which are “higher than our thoughts”) will bring you to a place of peace and freedom. Today, believe His promises are “Yes, and Amen!” and choose to live life with your eyes wide open anticipating the great things He is doing in our lives and throughout this earth.

It is God who “gives us the desires of our heart”, so we are also excited to see how God fulfills the desire we have concerning a little girl. The story is not over…

    Congrats guys! Cory….I’m encouraged by what you had to say….very well put! We too have the desire to have a baby girl (and if you haven’t heard yet, we’re expecting a baby in June!)…and it was good to read what you wrote – and thanking God that he DOES know better than we know. I keep saying…He knows what gender of kids I’ll be a better mom to and if we don’t have a girl…I must be a better mom to boys :)

    I watched this again after hearing that he is now with Jesus….how precious this video is to have. A little something to hold close as a memory of this sweet, short life.
