Day 1- 3/09/10- 213lbs

The heaviest I will be...

(NOTE: “The Camera Adds 3lbs”- I did not catch that until Day 5. 216lbs was really 213lbs)

I did some groceries at WalMart at 11pm last night (typical) and loaded up on protein, grapefruit juice and fresh greens. I’m sure this diet will mature as we go, but for now it is about avoiding sugars and carbs and loading on protein and vegetables. I will also lower my caffeine intake and drink more water. It’s a start, right?

I lost about 25 pounds on the ‘Body For Life’ Program back a handful of years ago, so I am confident I can make some progress this month.

Additionally, I am purposing to (given a crazy schedule right now) hit the gym 3x per week, and stop snacking. 6 sandwich baggies full of carrot sticks sit in the fridge as I write this…) So, if you think of me, pray that I tap into the self-control that Galatians 5 tells us we have.

Here’s what I had for lunch today…

Day 4- March 13- 209 lbs???

Classic… my scale is acting strange. Today it says I am 209, at the same time of day and wearing the same amount of clothing. I’d love to believe I’ve already lost 7 lbs, but unless there is a tapeworm involved (like the one Creed got me from Mexico), it might be time to get a new scale.

Regardless, I already feel healthier. Branched out today and cooked some hamburgers (no bun or condiments) along withe some fresh steamed green beans. Pork chops tonight with steamed carrots. Almost got a workout in, but Liam chickened out when I brought him to the on-site childcare at the gym. Maybe later tonight…In the meantime, here are some pictorial accounts of the ongoing war against flab and lethargy…
